Greetings students! We need your help in celebrating the wonderful planet we live on. Earth! April 22nd is Earth Day all over the world. As our planet faces many current challenges, you can take up the call to help SAVE THE PLANET!
It’s Easy Being Green!!!!

We are having 3 contests at SCIS and you may enter 1, 2 or all 3 if you want. Feel free to incorporate this year’s theme in any of your entries:

Create a poster showing something we can do to save the Earth or celebrating Earth Day. One winner will be chosen from pre-k to grade 2 and one winner from grades 3-5. Winners will show off their posters at our Earth Day assembly on April 22nd. All other posters will be displayed at the assembly as well.

Write a poem talking about something we can do for our planet or celebrating Earth Day. Winners from each age group will read their poems at the Earth Day assembly! All other poems will be displayed at the assembly. Again, there will be one winner from prek-2 and one winner from grades 3-5.

Write an essay, one page or less telling how you think we can help our planet. Be creative. Winners from each age group will read their esays at the Earth Day assembly! All other essays will be displayed at the assembly. There will be one winner from prek-2 and one winner from grades 3-5.


Please start work on these contests – the more people we have enter them, the more we can spread the word about Earth Day and our wonderful planet.

Please submit finished posters, essays and poems to Ms. Brummit by Tuesday, April 13th.
